Preparing For WordCamp Europe 2023
WordCamp Europe is the largest WordPress conference in Europe, and it’s coming to Athens in 2023! And not only that, but at Filter, we’re taking our biggest team yet. The event is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in WordPress, whether you’re a developer, designer, content creator, or business owner.

Is The Metaverse Finished?
A recent article in the Financial Times has suggested that the metaverse may be losing steam and that people are losing interest, and I’m not totally surprised. The allure of Virtual Reality and 3D has been a topic that surfaces at least once every decade as a new breakthrough is announced.

In recent years, artificial intelligence has become increasingly prevalent in our lives, from virtual assistants on our smartphones to the chatbots on our favourite websites. The recent launch of ChatGPT may have kick-started a revolution in the way we interact with technology and created new possibilities for the future.

WordCamp Asia
This year’s inaugural event featured a range of informative talks and workshops that covered a wide range of topics related to WordPress. Looking at it from the outside (and kicking myself for not going!) I could see that it was a well-run conference and a great addition to the WP community calendar.

As someone who has been involved in implementing personalization on CMS platforms such as Episerver/Optimizely and Sitecore for years, I was thrilled to be a guest on the WP Tavern Jukebox podcast to talk about the topic in more depth from a WordPress perspective.

Disney At Christmas
This year, we were incredibly lucky to go on holiday to Disneyworld and Universal Studios over the Christmas and New Year period. We’re massive Disney fans, and love being in Orlando, having already visited twice before the pandemic and lockdown. It’s always an unforgettable experience, and it brings us together as a family.

WordCamp US San Diego
I attended this year’s sold-out WordCamp US 2022 event in San Diego, filled with great talks such as Beka Rice of GoDaddy who provided some great insights while speaking about the benefits of a good online sales strategy and multi-channel selling and lots of others!

In today’s digital landscape, providing personalised experiences to website visitors is more important than ever. Users want content that is tailored to their interests, preferences, and behaviour, and as business and website owners, it’s our job to deliver on that expectation.

WCEU Porto and Talk
I had the privilege of attending the first WordCamp Europe post-COVID. This year it was based in Porto, and it offered a different experience to the last one I attended in Berlin in 2019, not least because I was chosen as a speaker for the first time and gave a Lightning Talk about WP-DXP.
